Again, why attend the seminars?

As with anything in life, success is partly determined by the investment you put into preparing for it. And a huge part of preparation lies in knowledge:

Vision 2011

Previously I wrote about new dreams , today I would like to focus on what is your vision for 2011? Do you even know what a vision is and how can it carry us on our journey to success.

so what exactly is a vision, the free dictionary describes vision as an image, idea, dreams, plans, hopes and conception. These words sound great, however they do not tell you how to go about designing your vision and implementing it or putting it into action. It is all about the action.  

 2011 has started with a softer edge than that of 2010. Yet so many businesses as well as individuals do not have a clear perspective of what it is that they are wanting to achieve. So by compiling a vision you will get a better understanding of what it is you want and a clear guideline or roadmap if you will how to get their and make the vision become a reality. We need direction in order to stay focused on the results rather than floundering around almost swimming in circles or even repeating last years mistakes or just making it through each month, but what about growth, your clients needs, your needs?

 Your vision statement (some like to call it a mission statement) should be clear and to the point of your purpose for offering what you are to your clients and the community. It should mention your core values, be socially meaningful, seem as we are in the hospitality and service industry, also address issues such as moral and ethical position of your salon, public image (on how to assist and support your clients needs and wishes), what message you are offering to clients by way of products and treatments, all these elements will help you to be more profitable through growth. I am sure you do not want to remain running in the same spot as every year, you want to grow just as every one does in society, just remember your reputation and character will stand you in greater stead than money ever will.  

 Your first consideration should and must be to your own beliefs now I am not talking of being selfish , what I am talking about is helping others, and this includes employees, clients, suppliers, your community at large as well as caring for the environment. 

It is after all all about PEOPLE. for without people we can accomplish nothing. In other words treating others with respect, dignity and helping them achieve what they wish to to have a good and happy life. 

 The vision you have for 2011 can be put into one sentence as some companies have done, however the main issue is that the vision becomes a lifestyle and part of everything you do. I always like to use the following examples as they relate directly to how we serve our clients. 

Ì´m lovin it´- McDonalds: putting the passion into our treatments and products and services.

´Connecting people´ - Nokia: don´t we communicate with others to educate them to achieve their desired outcomes or results.

´Just do it´ - Nike: doing it for all the right reasons you became a therapist in the first place.

´To make people happy´- Disney:  we need to do this continuously to become top of mind and create that experience over and over one of belonging, value and acceptance. 

 So just to remind you of the free dictionary element - Every vision requires action, and action words are verbs. Without action to define it, a core value is just a formless concept . . . just a word. It’s what you do with that concept that makes it a mission.´

Visions must include a moral and ethical position you wish to take, strategic influence for the salon, description of treatments and products on what they are offering, as well as expectations of growth and profitability. 

 

Remember it is about serving others and helping them achieve their goals and at the same time giving back by and through character of standing for something ethical as a lifelong commitment such as being committed to products that do not harm people or the environment in fact by being ´Bionome´and ensuring we look after skin as we were meant to do, enhance the skins natural ability to function through the bionome principles of free from chemical ingredients, free from chemical sunscreens, free of mineral oils, free from fragrance, colourants, oxygen, animal derivatives as well as caring for the environment by being free of outer useless packaging that does nothing but be thrown away.

 Our vision at Dr Baumann is to help to create a healthier world through the use of safe skin care by means of education, spreading the word of being valuable, contributing members of society.

 This translates to change spas and salons from centres of beauty to centres of health and beauty. We are an education and advisory `point`for our customers, regarding nutrition and for recognising and evaluating skincare ingredients that are healthy and safe to use. in other words skin compatible and skin identical as in the case of skinIdent.

 The question is what do you want to accomplish in 2011 and How can we at Dr Baumann help you achieve it? Alone it may be difficult, together is always more effective and efficient.  Strive, seek and find! Together we can do more. So in closing what is your vision for 2011?

Being the ARCHITECTS of CHANGE!

Dr Baumann South Africa is currently experiencing an exciting series of changes that we would like to share with you our Dr Baumann stockists or as I like to see you, our clients,  as part of the Dr Baumann family. 

 Towards the end of last year, November to be precise, Michelle Walter - National Marketing and Sales Manager and Ciara Power - Customer Relations and Education Manager joined Dr Baumann South Africa. And were promptly taken to Essen in Germany for a series of seminars, where the experience was one of delight and all expectations surpassed, from the hotels to the exciting unexpected expectations that yielded much new skills and equipment for the South African market.

We were fortunate enough to spend the week-end in Amsterdam touring the sights and seeing Europe from a new perspective.

As well as meeting other distributers from Canada, Poland, and two new distributors for France and India, joining the global Dr Baumann community to be a total of 21 countries. This is incredible since the growth to 21 has been over a short period of the past 7 years.

 We were really fortunate to be taken to Kreutzlingen in Switzerlland where we stayed at the Dr Baumann Vegan Hotel, as well as Met Dr Heinrich in Zurich at the new training facility - Hi-tech and absolutely modern yet green in design, with amazing views of lake zurich.

On the following trip in December we met Dr Baumann at the plant in Siegen, to see the operation and that it was in amongst a residential area, which really means commitment to people, environment and animals.

Meeting the two doctors, Dr Heinrich and Dr Baumann really puts into perspective the varying sides of Dr Baumann, from the classical, modern aspects to the humble, nurturing and caring sides. Yet always welcoming and appreciative of the new team (family members).

Now that 2011  has begun South Africa is experiencing the new Dr Baumann team along side new LOWER price structures, more COMMUNICATION in the way of web sites (www.dr-baumann.co.zy and www.theskincaremillionaire.com) where the new weekly promotions are published, any exciting new developments and blogs of interest are posted daily. Four sets of skinology and all four Millionaire seminars (change your busi.ness for the better).

 

Over and above this photographs and video clips will become the norm where every one of our family, salons and end users become our community celebrities.

Now is the Time for Change

Looking back over the christmas period, I wonder how many of us realize the powerful and priceless gifts we were and are given. Many call it the silly season yet enriched with many gifts, I am talking here of the gifts of family, friends, gratitude, Love, belonging, learning - real learning and yes money.

These are the gifts we should be giving and sharing all year round. Be it with family, friends, and especially with colleagues, suppliers and clients, most importantly clients. 

We all wish to have a successful and prosperous 2011, so here is the kicker if you wish to do really well, you need to keep the gift of real and true learning alive. So we are able to share, that is why reading books and business or trade magazines such a succeed or success, attending workshops and seminars are so vital, so that sharing this new found knowledge can ultimately create service excellence to and for our clients. Ensuring that they feel part of the family and that they belong. I will be chatting more about this topic in my up coming blogs.

The questions that you will need to ask before then is: Where do you stand on learning?, Where are you now and where do you want to be? So which seminars do I attend (skinology, Millionaire I) which books or magazines do I read?

New Dreams

Here we are once again, starting a new year, yet I must take a moment to reflect on the last two moths of 2010. As it was an incredible time for me, being afforded the great opportunity of going on two overseas trips to become part of the Dr Baumann family. Being away from home was refreshing and at the same time inspiring. The highlight however was meeting Dr E.W. Heinrich in Zurich and visiting the new training facility on Zurich  lake, as can be seen in the pictures below. as well as staying at the Dr Baumann Vegan Hotel in Kreutzlingen, Switzerland.

Dr E. W. Heinrich is such an inspiration as he has changed his immediate environment for the better and is striving to change the way we look at our beautiful planet. He is a person who likes Hi-tech and modern, yet at the same time clean lines and is straight forward just like the Dr Baumann product lines.

On asking him the following question: You must be very proud of the Dr Baumann products!

Dr B: Yes, especially when therapists say my clients have had allergies and now I have finally found a product that works, that is what I really like to hear. Now this is a truly remarkable human being, one who is warm, friendly, humble, passionate and proud of what he has accomplished over the past 20 years, along with Dr E. W. Heinrich.

 

This encounter has truly provided the passionate background and insight to the Dr Baumann Brand which I fully support and hope more people can utilize the brand and find exactly what they have been looking for in a brand as well as lifestyle for generations to come.
